Membership and Collaboration Opportunities

It is not necessary to be a Member of the Foundation in order to participate in its initiatives. Family foundations, individuals and corporate contributions programs all cooperate in various ways to fund the economic development programs researched and supported by the Trustees and the Advisors.

Those wishing to participate in an ongoing and more structured way are invited to consider becoming Donor Members and to support the Foundation financially. Donor Members attend Members meetings, elect Trustees, make grant recommendations to the Board and serve in as advisory role to the Board in grant-making policy.

The Foundation provides a simple operating structure for collaboration in philanthropy – one with minimum overhead and maximum management experience on the part of its Trustees and Advisors. By participating in this unique network, a number of foundations have been able to diversify their grant-making activities to include far-reaching economic renewal initiatives for our region.

Collaboration

Individuals who are interested in the advantages of a public charity without the administrative burden and cost of complying with the detailed tax, reporting and management requirements have found The Generation Foundation to be a practical and efficient ally in their giving. The Foundation provides administrative, tax and record-keeping services associated with donor support without cost to collaborators.

The Generation Foundation believes that the great traditions of Cleveland philanthropy should be taught to young people and encourages cross-generational participation in its programs. The future leadership of the Foundation will emerge from its member-contributors. Their extensive philanthropic experience will position them well to guide new grantmaking programs related to the mission.

Trustees will be pleased to meet with you to discuss the various forms of participation. Contact Us for more information.
